Workplace Culture

Workplace Culture 🎉

  • Fully-remote

    1. Empathy- We foster a healthy environment and treat others like humans. The positive feedback we receive from employees for the #1 reason why they stay at GreyNoise is "the people". Employees consistently say there are "no assholes" here and they love that they can go to anyone at GreyNoise for help and they'll be received with a compassionate and empathetic heart.

    2. Transparency- We don't operate in a black box model. All employees, regardless of title, have an understanding of where the business is. Unique to us, we share our board presentations with the entire company. We have bi-monthly townhalls for all staff where there is no BS, just numbers and updates. We also publicize salary bands internally and encourage people to speak in Slack public channels vs private dms. Transparency is rooted in every facet of the culture.

    3. Collaborative- We co-build everything -- we are a small team taking on a big problem in a big industry in a unique way. There's no copycat product for us to build off of, so a lot of things need to be built from the ground up, together. We call our losses our "veggies", but also love to celebrate everyone's wins, remembering someone else's win is one for everyone -- it's definitely a group effort each day to get across the finish line (and we ALL have the same finish line). It might seem small, but celebrating the little things goes a long way.

  • Executives live our 3 core values of Empathy, Transparency, and Collaboration on a daily basis. They treat everyone with respect and as people first, as employees second. Leadership makes it a priority to communicate goals and the state of the union in a transparent way to the entire organization, and they do so with an open and honest approach. They commit to being transparent as to why decisions are made the way they are. The entire executive team, including the CEO, also has an open door and open calendar policy, where all employees can see their calendars and are free to schedule meetings with leadership.

  • At GreyNoise, we use a Shoutout App (integrated within Slack), where employees can give kudos to any other employee for achievements. This gives leadership, as well as all employees, the opportunity to share and give recognition. Additionally, employees are offered spot bonuses throughout the year, where managers are given discretionary amounts to give to continusouly high performers. We also offer raises to our highest performers on a bi-annual basis. (More on this in question #10.)
